Blizzard has recently taken steps to disable the Decay Augmentation in Diablo 4 after players started dishing out damage levels way beyond what the developers had envisaged. Fans got a taste of Season 7 earlier in January, bringing alongside it the enticing Witchcraft powers. Gamers are encouraged to join forces with the Witches of Hawezar to track down the missing heads from the Tree of Whisper. However, not all aspects of these new additions have been hunky-dory.
As players started exploring the new game content, echoes of Diablo 3’s Witch Doctor class could be felt in some Witchcraft abilities and Occult gems. But all hasn’t been smooth sailing — frequent crashing and glitch-ridden items have plagued the experience. One particular disturbing issue involved unique armor for Barbarians, which Blizzard quickly addressed given its severity.
Within the official Blizzard forums, community director Adam Fletcher shared insights about the decision to deactivate the Decay Augmentation feature among the freshly introduced Witchcraft abilities. He explained that this move was necessary because the ability caused certain character builds to throw up “very egregious numbers” not foreseen by the development team. While players can still purchase the ability, Fletcher advised against it since it cannot be equipped until the glitch is patched with a forthcoming fix.
### Additional Diablo 4 Class Updates On The Way
With efforts ongoing to patch up the Decay Augmentation issue, Fletcher points out other class-specific hiccups currently under Blizzard’s lens. The Barbarian’s Mantle of Mountain’s Fury bug had met a previous hotfix, yet inconsistencies persist, prompting an upcoming update. Likewise, solutions are on the way for the Necromancer’s Ring of Mendeln, particularly within minion builds, anticipated to arrive with Update 2.1.2.
A build that has caught the favor of many in this season is the Diablo 4 Cataclysm Druid. As Witchcraft Season unfolded, players observed the Druid dishing out massive damage, including performances within Pit 150 — the zenith of endgame activity. Speculations suggest that a bug affecting Cataclysm scaling may have unintentionally boosted the damage multiplier, enabling such remarkable damage stats.
