Dying Light 2’s latest update, version 1.22, was released in mid-April 2025, packing an array of new features, improvements, and content designed to keep players engaged and entertained. This patch includes a host of new weapons, UX enhancements, and co-op refinements, marking yet another step in Techland’s continuous support for the game.
Celebrating its third anniversary on February 4, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, developed by Techland, has seen consistent updates ensuring the game stays fresh. This new update has returned with the Tower Raid mode, now featuring 27 novel weapons, including a trio of Elemental Pistols, each offering unique strategic applications. Alongside these additions, players can now earn exclusive cosmetics and items like the Breach outfit.
The update makes claiming Tower Raid rewards much more straightforward. Players now have the flexibility to collect items at their convenience, thanks to an overhauled UX. Minor HUD improvements further enhance the user experience by clearly indicating when new items are available, ensuring no player misses out on unlocking rewards.
Spring 2025’s update doesn’t stop at UX improvements. Techland has addressed several bugs and issues in co-op play, like enemy behavior that goes awry due to player sync problems. The HUD overhaul also contributes to a smoother, more intuitive co-op experience. Additionally, the Developer Tools have a new visual mods feature, allowing PC players to customize various textures within the game’s environment, with plans for console accessibility in the pipeline.
This update is the opening chapter of Techland’s ambitious 2025 roadmap for Dying Light 2. The coming months promise an exciting summer event to commemorate ten years of the franchise, along with a Halloween celebration and another major update in fall, anticipated to mirror the scale of update 1.22. A Winter Tales event will round out the year.
