Get ready to embark on a quirky and delightful cleaning adventure with Wallace & Gromit in PowerWash Simulator’s latest special pack, available now. We’ve partnered with the creative minds at Aardman Animations to bring 62 West Wallaby Street to life in a way like never before. Players can dive into five fresh levels, scrubbing and exploring everything from the pair’s quaint garden to the interior of their iconic Moon Rocket.
Join us as we chat with Mark Ginbey from FuturLab and animator Alannah Meek about breathing new life into this charming duo’s world. They share the inside scoop on developing the WASH LAD, a nifty little helper that makes your cleaning quests even more immersive. Mark notes, “Imagining mess for such beloved characters was quite the task, but luckily, Wallace and Gromit find themselves in sticky situations almost naturally. We just let the dirt tell their wacky story.”
According to Alannah, transitioning Wallace’s original LAD to the WASH LAD proved to be an engaging challenge. “We focused on making it more robotic, maintaining that distinct Wallace & Gromit charm,” she explains. Gamers will appreciate unique features like elbow joint movements and exchangeable legs for enhanced flexibility, perfect for getting every nook and cranny spick-and-span.
Before we get too technical, let’s explore some of the key areas you’ll clean. Start in the heart of their home — the Dining Room and Kitchen — both packed with fun Easter eggs and interactive features such as a toy train. Alannah shares, “Animating that train was a real puzzle, but players will have a blast seeing it chug along smoothly.”
Another featured area, Wallace & Gromit’s house, transports you to the peaceful British suburbia where you’ll tackle the duo’s beloved front garden. You’ll even take a peek inside Gromit’s doghouse. From encounters with inventions like the Soccamatic to flipping a pond, you’re promised an engaging playthrough packed with nods to classic moments from their adventures.
Dive beneath the house into the basement to find the tangled Knit-O-Matic. The animation team added a layer of detail to ensure this hefty contraption feels alive, according to Alannah. Players will appreciate the creativity here, where cleaning becomes an exhilarating task of discovery.
No Wallace & Gromit experience is complete without their famous vehicles. On a rare sunlit day, wash down inventive rides from the Snomanotron to the Top Bun bakery van. Even the Techno Trousers make an appearance, all in need of a bubbly revival.
Finally, gear up for an out-of-this-world experience with the Moon Rocket. Despite its dusty surface, you’ll bring it back to its stellar glory, including a special surprise from an interstellar picnic.
Adventures with this delightful pack continue across Xbox Game Pass, where members already have access to PowerWash Simulator’s base game. For a little extra, get the Wallace & Gromit Special Pack on the Xbox Store and join us in making 62 West Wallaby Street sparkling clean. The kettle’s on, and we can’t wait to see you there!
