Moon Studios has made an exciting return to its roots as an independent developer. This announcement was made during their recent Wicked Inside event, where they also shared some updates about their upcoming action RPG, “No Rest For the Wicked.”
The studio has regained the publishing rights to this game from Private Division, a part of Take-Two that had initially sold these rights back in November 2024. To manage what’s left of their portfolio, Moon Studios has brought on board former staff from Annapurna, a move that seems geared towards revitalizing their creative force.
In other news, Thomas Mahler, the founder of Moon Studios, took to Twitter to celebrate a major milestone for the famed Ori series. The beloved titles “Ori and the Blind Forest” and “Ori and the Will of the Wisps” have together surpassed 15 million copies sold.
Mahler shared his joy, noting, “Not too shabby for a Metroidvania and a genre we were told is dead when we started to work on it. So, thank you to everyone who supported us so far.” His words reflect the studio’s gratitude and determination to continue carving out a space in the gaming world.
