CD Projekt RED has officially announced the use of Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology as they work on bringing Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
“We’re utilizing a DLSS version specially designed for the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, which is powered by Nvidia’s Tensor cores,” the developers explained to Digital Foundry. “Cyberpunk 2077 employs DLSS across all four modes: in both handheld and docked configurations, as well as the performance and quality settings within each mode.”
The team further shared their goals: “For docked quality mode, docked performance mode, and handheld quality mode, we’re aiming for a 1080p resolution, whereas we’re targeting 720p for handheld performance mode.”
Set in an expansive open world, this action-adventure RPG lets you dive into the role of V, a mercenary enhanced with cybernetic features, as you battle through a future steeped in chaos, striving for both glory and survival. Players will get the chance to fully explore Night City, covering content from the base game and its thrilling expansion, Phantom Liberty.
The game has been optimized to match all play styles, including options for motion controls during combat, a Gyroscope Mode offering precise control, and the flexibility to navigate menus or inventories using touch gestures such as tapping, swiping, or pinching. Additionally, players can use the Joy-Con 2 (R) like a mouse.
Mark your calendars for June 5, 2025, as Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition arrives both in stores and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2. Keep an eye out for the trailer to get a glimpse of what’s in store!
