Polish game developer People Can Fly is excited to dive back into the Gears of War franchise. In a recent announcement on their website, the studio revealed they will be collaborating with Xbox’s first-party studio, The Coalition, on the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day. People Can Fly is no stranger to the series, having taken the lead on 2013’s Gears of War: Judgment and contributed to the initial trio of games in this sci-fi shooter saga.
Sebastian Wojciechowski, the CEO of People Can Fly, expressed his enthusiasm by saying, “Being able to return and contribute to the next chapter of this iconic series is both an honor and a thrilling chance to enhance the intense action and rich narratives that fans cherish.” He further emphasized the appreciation for the ongoing trust and support from their partners.
Adding to this, The Coalition’s studio head, Mike Crump, shared, “Gears of War: E-Day isn’t just another game for us; it represents a return to the essence that makes Gears of War authentic and beloved. Collaborating with the skilled team at People Can Fly, who have long been a part of our franchise’s story, is a pleasure.”
Despite the excitement surrounding this collaboration, it’s worth noting that People Can Fly experienced significant changes in 2024, with over 150 jobs cut during that year.
