Pizza Hut has come up with a fun twist by combining two seemingly unrelated passions: delicious pizza and console gaming. Say hello to the PIZZAWRMR, a quirky new gadget designed to perch on top of your Sony PlayStation 5, keeping your favorite takeout nice and hot while you game. But don’t rush to the store just yet! This isn’t a product you’ll find on shelves or a prize in some grand giveaway. Instead, Pizza Hut Canada is offering the source files for 3D printing for free to anyone ready to sign up and ready to print their own.
Echoing Pizza Hut’s iconic red-roofed restaurants, the PIZZAWRMR has a top that opens much like a laptop, giving you easy access to those cheesy slices. According to Pizza Hut’s creative team, it holds several slices comfortably, channeling hot air from the console to keep your meal warm. It’s a clever use of “science and engineering for the greater good,” explains their marketing team with a wink.
The downloadable package includes STL files and a detailed PDF guide, courtesy of Pizza Hut Canada. Inside, you’ll find the print blueprints for various parts like the body, left stand, lid, and manifold — all crafted to fit snugly onto a PlayStation 5. The project is specifically tailored for consoles with rear vents of 11.7 by 1.31 inches. As for the printing, you’ll need a 3D printer with a bed larger than 15 by 15 inches. This means many popular models might not fit the bill unless you’re willing to get creative and split the model. Recommended printers include the Elegoo Neptune 4 Max, Prusa XL, or perhaps the mighty Elegoo Orange Storm Giga.
Of course, there are precautions to consider to keep potential pizza crumbs and grease away from your pricey console. Pizza Hut suggests inserting a foil tray measuring 34 x 23 x 2.5cm into the warmer for maximum protection.
Puzzlingly, the instructions switch to metric when talking about the tray — maybe it’s a nod to Canadian preferences? The final step from Pizza Hut is simple: fire up your PS5 to warm the PIZZAWRMR, and once ready, place your slices on the tray. For the best fit, opt for medium pizza slices.
This isn’t the first time a fast-food chain has dabbled in the gaming world. Back in 2020, KFC captured our imagination with the KFConsole, a tongue-in cheek venture that transformed into reality: a console powered by Intel NUC with a drawer to keep your fried chicken warm. So, Pizza Hut’s latest venture isn’t completely out of the blue within the realm of playfully blending culinary delights with gaming fun.
Who knew gaming could be this tasty? Get ready to crank up your PlayStation and your appetite, all at once!
