Take-Two Interactive has announced its plans to support the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, although details are still under wraps.
Over the years, the third-party giant has backed the original Nintendo Switch with a slew of popular titles. Fans have enjoyed games like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, XCOM 2 Collection, and the revamped Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. More recent releases include New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, as well as sports hit NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
As Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, mentioned during the company’s Q3 2025 earnings call, their collaboration with Nintendo is nothing new. “Our partnership with Nintendo goes way back, and we’ve always been selective about the titles we release. Remember when Nintendo’s consoles were mainly aimed at younger gamers? That definitely influenced the choices we made.” Now, things have changed dramatically. “With the current Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2, the audience is far more diverse. Just look at Sid Meier’s Civilization VII being available on Switch. So, while we don’t have any specific updates right now, we fully anticipate supporting the Switch 2.”
For those eager to see what’s next for Nintendo, mark your calendars. The Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation is set to go live at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST on Wednesday, April 2. The new console is expected to launch globally in 2025, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the exact date. Stay tuned!
