Winking Studios, a leading Asian outsourcing company for triple-A games, has made a major move by acquiring China’s Mineloader.
This acquisition, valued at £16.3 million (approximately $19.87 million), involves an initial payment of $14.7 million. The remaining amount will be paid over the next five years, contingent on the Shanghai-based company’s performance in meeting certain milestones.
Mineloader, established back in 2003, specializes in art outsourcing development. It’s a significant player in its field.
Expressing his enthusiasm about this development, Johnny Jan, CEO and founder of Winking Studios, stated, “This is our biggest acquisition so far and a crucial step that reinforces our standing in the global video games industry. It’s opening up new paths for growth and innovation.”
He added, “Game art plays a critical role in developing a video game, providing the visual backbone and creative flair that captivates players and directly influences their experience. With a strong history and expertise in game art production, Mineloader’s team of over 460 staff members will strengthen our existing workforce of more than 800. This collaboration will enhance our offerings and bring in new clientele. Mineloader’s well-established foothold in the Japanese market adds significant value to our business connections.”
This acquisition signals an exciting chapter for both companies, promising to elevate their combined capabilities and outreach in the gaming world.
