As we move into the new year, Xbox Game Pass is gaining some serious speed. By the end of January, this popular service is set to ramp things up dramatically. Thanks to a surprise release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, along with fresh additions like Eternal Strands, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector launching right on their first day, Xbox Game Pass is finishing this month with great energy.
Looking ahead to February, however, the schedule seems a bit sparse with only two games confirmed at this stage. Far Cry New Dawn is set to get things going and hopefully, Obsidian’s much-anticipated Avowed will deliver another hit when it lands on February 18. Still, February could use a boost in variety to maintain the momentum set by January’s lineup.
Thank Goodness You’re Here!, now available on PlayStation, Switch, and PC, was a standout last year. While it didn’t take home a trophy at The Game Awards, its clever humor and unique gameplay really struck a chord. Crafted by the creative minds at Coal Supper from Yorkshire, this quirky game lets you step into the shoes of a small-time traveling salesman navigating a bizarre Northern English village teeming with eclectic characters. Sadly, it’s missing from the Xbox catalog, and adding it to Game Pass would be a delightful move.
Next on our wish list for February 2025 has got to be Civilization 6. With Civilization 7 finally arriving on February 11 after a long wait, it would be a strategic win for Firaxis to introduce Civilization 6 on Xbox Game Pass. This could serve as a great primer for new players eager to get onboard before the launch of the next installment.
On a related note, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is gearing up for release on February 4. This series has carved out a dedicated fanbase since its debut in 2018. Given its niche status, bringing the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance to Game Pass could broaden its audience just in time for the sequel, potentially boosting its success.
A long-standing request from the gaming community has been to see Elden Ring on Xbox Game Pass. Three years post-launch, its arrival would be perfectly timed, especially with Elden Ring Nightreign on the horizon. The game’s addition would certainly attract an even larger player base, which would only amplify the excitement for its upcoming sequel.
As we anticipate these potential additions, expanding Xbox Game Pass with these diverse offerings could certainly elevate the gaming experience for its subscribers, making February another hit month after this stellar start to the year.
